Pro fishermen arrive in Biloxi for Kingfish tournament

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Pro fishing teams arrived at the Point Cadet Marina in Biloxi Sunday for the Southern Kingfish Association's 23rd Annual National Championship, which officially begins on Tuesday.

The teams are considered the best in the country, according to the association. Team Lil Devils.com came from South Florida.

The team spent the day prepping their boat and discussing strategy. Lil devils members said they hope to catch a kingfish that weighs in at 50 or 60 pounds.

"The fisheries real good here. You can go out and catch a lot of forties and that'll get you close, but you really need a 50 to kinda get you up there as far as being in the points and being in the money," said Lil Devils.com member Michael Jaquin about fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

The tournament's award ceremony will be held Thursday morning. More than $140,000 will be distributed to the top teams.
