ROSSFORD, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Rossford Police say they're investigating a possible theft ring after searching two apartments and finding what they believe to be stolen property and more.

On Wednesday, Rossford Police and the Wood County Sheriff's Special Response Team searched a home on Helen Drive. Inside, they found stolen property they believe is connected to an increase in home invasions, directly related to drugs.

Police also found about 250 whip-it canisters. They say that's more than they've ever seen in one place, more than restaurants have in their kitchens.

"It's highly illegal and highly dangerous to the person who uses it or abuses it," said Rossford Police Chief Glenn Goss.

The cans contain nitrous oxide and are used to pressurize whipped cream cans, but abusers use them to get high.

"You inhale this, you're instantly cutting off…the air supply, the oxygen needed to the brain," Goss said.

Joshua Curtis, 19, and Samantha Crawford, 22, were charged with drug-related offenses. Police say Crawford is also connected to a recent home invasion, where 21-year-old William Wesley stole nearly $100,000 in jewelry from his own grandmother.
