ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Thursday marks the 153rd birthday of Juliette Gordon Low, founder of Girl Scouts of America.

Patrice Devine, with the Girl Scouts of America chapter in Albany says the organization based on building up young leaders continues to follow the example set by their founder 101 years ago.

"Our three keys are discovering, connection, and taking action," said Devine. "That is a part of the girl scout leadership experience. That has continued today for over 101 years."

Devine encourages all young girls to explore the opportunities the Girl Scouts of America has to offer. She emphasized that the organization is always looking for volunteers, so all young girls are encouraged to become a member.
