The Mississippi Department of Health is educating Mississippians about the new health insurance law. They held a public meeting at First Baptist Church Moss Point today. Another session takes place tonight in Gulfport.

Dr. Corey Wiggins with The ithink group is leading the forum and will be answering any questions people have about the Affordable Care Act.

This is just one of three meetings the MS State Department of Health is putting on to inform the public. The others are at the following times:

  • Monday, October 28, 5:30 PM — Good Deeds Community Center, 1510 Madison St, Gulfport
  • Tuesday, October 29, 7:00 PM — St. Matthew MBC, 2101 James Thomas St (formerly Walker St), Picayune

Hannah Moseley was at this morning's event in Moss Point. Tonight on WLOX News and WLOX.com, she'll have more details about what was discussed and when the next sessions will be held.
