WOODBINE, GA (WTOC) -

Two men thanked and acknowledged at a Board of Co. Commissioners meeting for their heroic actions.

On Oct. 10, 2013 Shannon Gibson and Ronnie Moore performed a selfless act when they saw a burning vehicle with a woman trapped inside and sprung into action to save the woman's life.

Moore saw a vehicle that went off the roadway, collided into a tree and caught fire. Moore called for help and flagged down a passerby to help. Shannon Gibson was flagged down and deployed a fire extinguisher to the burning car.

Moore and Gibson fought past the flames towards the injured woman and were able to free her from the vehicle.

The brave acts of these individuals saved a woman's life on a remote roadway in Camden County. The Commissioners of Camden Co. proclaim that members of the body recognize Ronnie Moore and Shannon Gibson for their life saving actions on Oct. 10, 2013.
