A Deadly Night on Mississippi Roads

A Gulfport teenager died in a head-on collision on I-10 late Friday night. Officials said 16-year-old Andrew Nation was headed westbound in the eastbound lane of the interstate, traveling at high speeds.

He hit 18-year-old Alyssa Michelle Taylor of New Orleans. She is in critical condition at Keesler Medical Center.

16-year-old Nation died at the scene.

In another incident Friday night, a Moss Point man died after being hit by a Pascagoula teenager.

Moss Point police said 51-year-old Larry Bardwell was walking in the area of Main Street and Martin Luther King Drive in Moss Point when he was hit by a truck around 7:11 p.m. Bardwell died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, 19-year-old Christopher Sullivan is in jail, facing numerous charges, including DUI with death.
