Horse toured Ridgeland and Madison before capture

Posted: Updated:
RIDGELAND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The horse that was roaming around Ridgeland and Madison has been captured.

Our news crew followed the horse's path from sightings as given by local police.

The horse was captured in the North Bay subdivision in Madison.

The horse was led away by familiar faces, possibly its owners.

Earlier today, around 4:30 p.m. a WLBT viewer sent us a photo of the horse on the loose in Ridgeland.

According to the viewer the horse was possibly first spotted in the Tavern Hill neighborhood and was headed toward the Rice Road area.

A Ridgeland Police dispatcher, said the horse was also spotted on the Natchez Trace between Madison and Ridgeland.

After all of that exercise, the horse followed an unidentified woman who was riding another horse back to its home.

Madison Police escorted the woman and horses back to safety.
