GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - It took Gulfport Police just 24 hours to zero in on two suspects in a murder case that sent shock waves across the community.
Around 7pm Tuesday night, 15-year-old Joshua Cuellar was gunned down in a parking lot off Lowes Drive, near his home. Wednesday night, around 6:40pm, officers arrested two other teens and charged them with murder.
Sellers Johnson, 17, and Damon Demond Clark, 16, are being held at the Harrison County Adult Detention Facility in lieu of $1 million bonds.
Tips from the public led investigators to the teens. Police believe Johnson and Clark were passengers in a car Cuellar was driving. A physical fight broke out and Cuellar was shot multiple times outside the vehicle.
Police found Cuellar in the parking lot after responding to a report of gun shots being fired. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Cuellar's family spoke to WLOX News Wednesday and begged the public to help investigators with any information they could to help find those responsible for the teen's death.
WLOX News will have more details on the investigation as they are released.
