Building antique cars isn't just a hobby for Larry Branning. It's also his Moss Point business.
Cruisin' the Coast naturally revs up excitement for car lovers. It also adds work to the busy schedule at Larry's Rod and Custom Shop.
Pascagoula's first Riding Around Town day is another boost.
"I have enough work now to do for a year. But if I had enough work now that I could do for five years and didn't have to worry about it, that would be great," Branning adds.
Branning says adding Pascagoula to the Cruisin' the Coast map of regular pit stops might do that.
"I could invite people over to my shop and it wouldn't be far to drive if they are just coming through," Branning says.
And Branning says other businesses would see the benefits as well.
"There'll be a lot of people spending money. Restaurants, gas stations, and these babes use a lot of gas," Branning says.
Pascagoula's efforts to be added to the official Cruisin' line up hit a dead end the past two years.
If this year's Ridin' Around Town event is a success, organizers say it will show that Pascagoula is ready to welcome the cruisers every year.
