The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is helping investigate an officer-involved shooting in Coffeeville Sunday night. Coffeeville Police received a domestic violence call about around 9:00 p.m. at 201 Rayburn Street.
An hour-and-a-half later, they had David long, who lives at the address and is wheelchair bound, outside the house when he pulled a handgun and began firing at the officer. The officer returned fire, killing long, but was struck four times and airlifted to a Memphis hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
MBI Investigators are conducting interviews and performing other elements of the investigation. Members of MBI's Crime Scene Unit have processed the crime scene and submitted evidence to the State Crime Laboratory for forensic testing.
