Grambling to pay $20K for forfeiting game against JSU

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Grambling State University will pay thousands of dollars to the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

The amount to be paid $20,000 to be exact and it's all for forfeiting Saturday's game against Jackson State University.

The school pushed back the team's departure until 3:30 but only 22 players showed up.

This week the team skipped practice, but school officials hoped they would show up for the game.

Players are upset with lack of funding, poor facilities, coaching changes, and other issues.
