Weekend Whereabouts: October 18-20

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) -

It's impossible to go back in time, but to recreate the past that's possible. It's what organizers are doing at the Ocean Springs Renaissance Faire over the weekend. The faire features children's entertainment as well as belly dancers and comic book artists. Plus, costumed actors Jack Sparrow and Black Beard will bring pyrotechnics.

Over in Gautier there's the 23rd Annual Gautier Mullet and Music Fest. The family event features great shopping, unique hand crafted items and great Gulf Coast food. For children there's pony rides, bouncy houses, petting zoo and a dunkin' booth. Be sure to enter the famous mullet toss to see how far you can throw a mullet. Great bands are on tap to perform at the festival.

Head over to Bay St. Louis for the live music, games, arts and crafts and plenty of entertainment at the 87th Annual St. Rose Heritage Festival. This fun filled event includes plenty of activities for children, bingo, a silent auction, great food and much more. This event is Saturday at 11 a.m.

The Fall Muster is this weekend at Beauvoir. That is the reenactment of the 1861-1865 conflict. There will be a picnic basket auction, ladies tea, Saturday night dance and entertainment.

The 2013 Fear Fete Horror Film Festival brings you 26 intense indie horror films categorized into six genre blocks this October 18-20, 2013 at The Grand 18 in D'Iberville. The festival showcases horror film workshops taking place at the Courtyard Marriott in D'Iberville. The workshops include animatronics puppetry, foam fabrication, out of the kit make up and bondo transfer make up. There's also a midnight mash up party from 11 to 2 a.m. on Friday.     A Gulfport man was sentenced to 30 years Friday for sexually abusing a 15-year-old girl. Michael Jordan, 48, was convicted on four counts of sexual battery for abusing a 15-year-old family member.
