MS included in $30M judgment against marketer

Mississippi is among 46 states and the District of Columbia who will share a $30 million dollar settlement.

Attorney General Jim Hood says a Connecticut-based company and its subsidiaries misled consumers.

Many of them signed up and paid for discount clubs and memberships.

The company, Affinion, was accused of improperly charging for services like credit monitoring, roadside assistance and discounted travel.

Complaint forms may be obtained at www.agjimhood.com or by contacting the Consumer Protection Division at 601-359-4230 or 1-800-281-4418.

The deadline to submit complaints to the Attorney General's Office is February 14, 2014.
