No suspect after woman killed in west Toledo apartment

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Police say they discovered the body of 23-year-old Jordan Jones after being called out to a west Toledo apartment complex Sunday night, but there still have been no arrests in the case.

Neighbors who live at the Tamaron apartments on Alexis Road near Jackman Road say they heard a commotion inside the third-floor apartment, where Jones' body was found. Later around 10:30 p.m., they say they heard six or seven gunshots.

Toledo News Now's Amanda St. Hilaire, who was on scene, says a body bag was pulled out of the apartment building around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

One resident says he was looking out the peep hole of his apartment and saw a man run down the stairs and out the building.

The coroner and homicide detectives were on scene, along with police, who conducted their investigation for several hours. Bags of evidence were taken from the scene.

Neighbors are surprised by the violence.

"There's a lot of people around here, even that you have tried to question maybe, or even tried to talk to, that really don't want to talk, because they don't know if the person that actually committed this crime has been apprehended, or is in custody with Toledo police," said one resident.

Police have not made an arrest or named a suspect in the case. Detectives are still following up on leads. If you have any information that can help, call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
