SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - As of 10 a.m. Saturday, the total number of registered cars for Cruisin' the Coast was 7,020. Organizer Woody Bailey said last year 41 states were represented.
This year, there's already 44 states represented, lacking Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Vermont, Idaho, and Hawaii.
Bailey is hopeful that number will continue to grow and 50 states will be represented. But, with all this popularity, it begs the question, is this event too big? That's what some locals are saying.
With traffic headaches, revving engines and cars burning out, they feel something should be done to keep the activity under control.
