5th annual Montgomery Half Marathon today

The Fifth annual Montgomery Half Marathon kicks off this today and runners from across the country are in the streets of downtown Montgomery.

The Montgomery Half Marathon, which runs through downtown, Capitol Heights and Old Cloverdale, is presented by Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama is quickly becoming one of most popular events for runners in the south. 

Each year the race donates all of its proceeds to benefit a local organization. This year the proceeds go to Child Protect a Children's Advocacy Center which helps provide with forensic, therapeutic and prevention services to all child abuse and sexual assault victims. 

There are three other races aside for the half marathon including a 5-K, 1 mile fun-run, and the Publix Mayor's Challenge.

    Gulfport police need your help finding a runaway teen. Sgt. Joshua Bromen said 16-year-old Caitlyn Nicole Coursey was last seen leaving her home around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
