Police officer's home burglarized; guns among items taken

JACKSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A thief who broke into the home of a police officer earlier this month was caught on video.

The house, in the 1300 block of Lynwood Drive, in Jackson was burglarized on October 1 and October 6.

The home owner, who is a Byram police officer, says he's missing a .40 Caliber Glock and 45 Caliber Derringer.

"We're trying to get the officer's service weapons back, so we're looking out to the public. Detectives are looking into others to see if he burglarized any other homes in the area," said Jackson Police Officer, Colendula Green.

The suspected burglar was seen carrying a box the first time he walked out the front door, and the second time he was carrying a TV.

The thief also took a flat-screen TV and a circular saw.

If the burglar looks familiar, call Jackson Police at 601-960-1234 or Crimestoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8744).
