Forecasters say TS Karen has slowed down

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

The newest advisory from the National Hurricane Center indicates the forward speed of Tropical Storm Karen has slowed down.  The storm is now predicted to reach the mouth of the Mississippi River early on Sunday morning.

The current track of Karen has the 60 mph storm moving north-northwest.  It's expected to turn to the north later today.

As of 7:00am, Karen is at 25.2N 90.0W.  And it's moving NNW at 10 mph. 

Forecasters still have the Mississippi Gulf Coast under a hurricane watch.  They predict the storm surge associated with Tropical Storm Karen to be between three and five feet.  The storm could produce as much as eight inches of rain.
