PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) - The Pass Christian harbor master is urging boat owners to act now, before a possible mandatory evacuation.
Willie Davis told WLOX News there are about 250 boats docked at the Pass Harbor. Thursday afternoon, some of the larger vessels headed out to find a safer spot.
Davis says he always wants boat owners to plan ahead. The harbor master is optimistic that Tropical Storm Karen won't cause many problems.
Biloxi leaders are also urging the same kind of planning for boat owners who have vessels docked at Point Cadet, the Small Craft Harbor and the Commercial Harbor.
Officials there say they'll decide Friday whether to order boats out of the harbors.
