BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Nine channels are the latest casualties in a contract battle between Cable One and Turner Network.
Tuesday morning, Cable ONE removed CNN, CNN en Espanol, Headline News, Turner Classic Movies, TruTV, and Boomerang from their channel line-up after the contract with Turner Network expired.
Turner Network wants to raise the price of those channels by nearly 50 percent. Cable ONE says that's too much for what they call "channels with steadily declining ratings." They would prefer to pay a fee for the channels, but Turner has rejected that idea.
After Cable ONE removed the disputed channels, Turner Network deauthorized signals to TNT, TBS, and the Cartoon Network.
"We believe that they have deauthorized these channels in retaliation for us dropping their less popular programming," Cable One wrote in a message to subscribers.
Cable ONE said they will credit customers for the time all the channels are missing. It will be automatically applied as a credit to the next billing statement.
