NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

Investigators believe the same man who robbed a US Bank branch Tuesday on Fesslers Lane was also responsible for a bank robbery Monday on Murfreesboro Pike.

Metro police and the FBI are searching for the man, who they say robbed the US Bank branch at 747 Fesslers Lane just before 11 a.m. Tuesday after robbing the US Bank branch at 1125 Murfreesboro Pike about noon Monday.

In both cases, police say the robber initially showed the teller a check stub and then a handwritten note that demanded money.

Each time, the man then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 30s with a mustache. He is approximately 6' tall and 180 pounds.

Anyone recognizing the suspect from the surveillance photo is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
