German Fest good family fun

GLUCKSTADT, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The 27th annual German Fest was held Sunday afternoon at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Gluckstadt.

Hundreds enjoyed the traditional dances from local artists, along with the food. There were also horse drawn wagon rides and games for kids.

The Madison County Community was founded in 1905 by families of German descent. Now, it's a tradition for many that live there.

"We like to provide a good party for people to come out and have a good time with their families. And we use our proceeds to benefit some of our parish functions, parish activities, and we also tithe ten percent of our profits to local charities," said Pam Minninger, with German Fest.

German Fest has come to a close this year.
