MOBILE, AL (WLOX) -

The University of South Alabama (USA) announced on their web page USA's former President Emeritus Gordon Moulton died Saturday.

According to USA, Moulton lost his yearlong battle with cancer.

USA issued this statement:

The University of South Alabama family extends its deepest sympathies to Geri Moulton and the Moulton family. We also express our heartfelt appreciation for President Moulton's long-time service and his transformational leadership of the University.

    Police have one person in custody followed an alleged armed robbery in Ocean Springs Wednesday evening.

    Ocean Springs police say three more people reportedly linked to a Walmart armed robbery are in custody. One suspect is a 16-year-old. The others are 18-year-old Albert Morgan III and 20-year-old Gary Desean Perkins. Police charged the trio with armed robbery. Investigators say they were in the get away vehicle Wednesday when Nicholas Jvante Brothern reportedly jumped in and took off.
