Expect road closures, heavy traffic with weekend events downtown

Posted: Updated:
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

It's going to be a busy weekend in downtown Nashville as visitors head to several fun events, including the Women's Running Half Marathon/5K.

The route starts and ends at the Country Music Hall of Fame and will have several roads closed for a few hours Saturday morning, including sections of James Robertson Parkway, Church Street, 31st Avenue, Belmont Boulevard and 16th Avenue South.

The race begins at 7 a.m.

View the full list of closures and designated no parking zones by visiting: http://womenshalf.competitor.com/nashville/road-closure-information.

Tickets are still available Saturday for the Southern Ground Music and Food Festival at The Lawn at Riverfront Park, featuring Zac Brown Band, Willie Nelson, John Fogerty, Kacy Musgraves and many others. Find details here: http://nashville.southerngroundfestival.com/.

And normal traffic restrictions will be in place Sunday for the Titans' home game versus the New York Jets, which kicks off at 3 p.m.

Pedestrians will be able to cross the Cumberland River via the Woodland Street bridge as well as the Shelby Street pedestrian bridge in order to access LP Field.

Fans without LP Field parking passes are encouraged to park downtown, then ride an InShuttle Transportation shuttle bus. Shuttles will travel from the state parking areas at 10th and Charlotte and 4th and Harrison.
