TUNICA, MS -

(WMC-TV) - The 76-year-old man reported missing Monday was found safe in Tunica County.

Ivan Bynum was reported missing on September 23. His car was found in Tunica.

His family told Action News 5 that Bynum does frequent the casinos, but he usually gets home around 7 p.m. to take his heart medication. When he didn't show up Monday, his sister began to panic.

"We drove through every parking lot, every parking place there was and his car wasn't there," said sister, Mary Young. "I know he had plenty of money on him and I know he's not very careful because he's a trusting soul. He's just an honest decent man."

DeSoto County Sheriff's Department and Horn Lake Police Department assisted Tunica County with the search efforts. Crews were on foot, in ATVs, and in helicopters.

Bynum was found about six miles southwest of his car, and investigators believe he walked the distance over the past two days. When he was found, he was alert and responsive, but dehydrated.

Action News 5's Michael Clark is on the scene, and again, reports that Bynum was found safe. We are working to learn more about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. Stay with WMCTV.COM for the very latest.
