FORECAST: Warm today, scattered showers tonight

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The work week is off to an unseasonably warm start. The mercury will soar into the upper 70s by mid to late afternoon Monday,which is about 10 degrees above the average high of 67 degrees for the 21st of April. 

High and mid-level clouds are already streaming into the Tri-State ahead of the next system. Therefore, sunshine will become increasingly filtered leading to mostly cloudy skies by Monday evening.

A weak cold front will move across the Tri-State very late tonight and early Tuesday morning.  It will trigger scattered showers and possibly even an isolated thunderstorm. While a spotty shower is possible this evening, the best chance of rain will come after midnight.

After a lingering shower or two Tuesday morning, we will see increasing sunshine, but cooler with more seasonable temperatures in the upper 60s.
