ADAMS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The National Weather Service has confirmed five tornados in our viewing area from Friday night's late night storms.

Preliminary reports show an EF-2 tornado caused damage in Adams County.

Sheriff Chuck Mayfield says the damage happened between 11:30 p.m. and midnight on Kingston Road, in the southeastern part of the county.

He describes one home as "demolished." It is the home of State Senator Melanie Sojourner. She was out of town when the storm came through.

You can see in these pictures that the tin roof of the home is literally peeled back. And some of the vinyl siding is ripped off.

Debris is lodged in the trees and scattered throughout the yard.

A nearby trailer was damaged.

There were no injuries reported.

The Weather Service has confirmed a separate EF-1 tornado in Adams County left a few dozen trees uprooted.

Rankin and Smith counties saw an EF-1 and Simpson county was hit by an EF-0 tornado.
