SOUTHAVEN, MS -

(WMC-TV) - A man accused of molesting two young girls is dead. Family members believe he was driven to kill himself by accusations of possibly more victims by the District Attorney in DeSoto County.

James Marchand's family still insists he was innocent. Marchand's family has difficulty talking about him. His sister-in-law, Shannon Marchand, found him Wednesday morning.

James was staying at his father's house in Southaven recovering from a car crash that put him in The MED for several days.

"He's had heart problems and passed out and drove into oncoming traffic," said Shannon.

In 2006, Marchand was accused of molesting a girl. The family says he was not allowed to live with his two young children ages 9 and 12. That is why he was at his father's house.

James' brother posted the $200,000 bond on Friday.

Marchand's family says he was a loving husband.

"James was a very kind loving brother in law. My children are older now, but when they were younger I would trust them around him. I would have no problem with him around my kids," said Shannon.

James' body is on the way to the state crime lab for an autopsy.
