Weekend Whereabouts: Sept. 20-22

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Don't let this weekend be a mystery, plan ahead by checking out these South Mississippi events.

See the top 35 bull riders in the country attempt to ride a bull for up to eight seconds in the two day Battle at the Beau presented by Professional Bull Riders. The cowboys will be competing for a piece of the $140,000 event purse and the valuable points needed to become the 2013 PBR World Champion. The heart pounding, edge of your seat action features fan favorites Shane Proctor, Luke Snyder, Chase Outlaw and other familiar favorites. Enjoy all the rock and alternative music the CPR Fest has to offer. Crowds flock to the festival each year to listen to a several live bands. This year it's all happening rain or shine at Jones Park in Gulfport gates open at 11:20 a.m. Some of the bands performing include Longreef, Nonpoint and Sick Puppies. 2nd Annual Kickin' It for CASA 5K Race and Kickball Tournament, a fundraising and awareness raising event scheduled for this weekend. This event will serve not only to raise funds for this very special organization, but also serve to raise awareness of our community's needs in terms of child advocacy, recruit CASA volunteers, and recruit foster families in our community.
