Police believe robbers targeted business owners

HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Clinton police believe the owners of a Jackson business were targeted by robbers, and now they're issuing a warning to others.

Three robbers stole thousands of dollars from the owners of Chopstick in Jackson at their Clinton home Saturday night.

"When they arrived at their house, they were confronted by some suspects who were apparently waiting there. They robbed the individuals of their money and some other possessions," Chief Michael Warren said.

The victims said the robbers took more than $2,000. Warren said his team is working hard to find the three suspects.

"We got a little bit of a vehicle description and a partial tag description. The suspects were wearing masks and gloves," the chief said.

Clinton police are investigating another similar robbery.

In July, three people reportedly followed the owners of a Jackson Chinese food restaurant to their home in Clinton. The armed robbers got away with cash.

Detectives say they have an outstanding warrant for 21-year-old Deyanta Lindsey of Wisconsin in that case. Lindsey is a convicted felon and his bond has been set at $250,000.

Clinton police aren't sure if the two robberies are related.

Warren advised business owners to avoid becoming a target by making a bank deposit before going home.
