Kroger will close East County Line Road store

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Kroger Delta Division announced Wednesday that it's Ridgeland store, located at 2000 E. County Line Road, will close November 5. The fuel center will remain open and all store employees will be transferred to other Kroger locations in the area.

The November closing will also coincide with the completion of a multi-million dollar renovation to Kroger's other Ridgeland store, located at 7045 Old Canton Road. The newly remodeled store will include a pharmacy, new remodeling to the interior and exterior, as well as updated deli and produce areas.

"When we purchased the store on Old Canton Road from Brookshire three years ago, we knew that eventually we would have to make this decision," said Joe Bell, manager of marketing and public affairs for Kroger Delta Division. "However, we wanted to make sure that it was at the ideal time for us as well as our customers. With the new renovations to the Old Canton Road location, we feel the time is right. Our customers will be very impressed with the improvements made at this store. We have invested a lot of time and money into making this a showcase store."

Bell also said that all pharmacy files will be transferred to the 7045 Old Canton Road location.
