Hinds County district line confusion

Posted: Updated:
HINDS COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County election officials want voters to make sure they know which district they live in before heading to the polls. Some Hinds County residents can vote next Tuesday for the Hinds County Board of Supervisors special primary election for the District two and four seats.

District lines shifted last year when Hinds County approved a new re-districting plan. The re-districting means some residents who were in district two and district four previously are no longer in those districts. The district changes could impact Hinds County residents who vote at the Raymond One and Springridge precincts.

"At this point the best thing for them to do is call our office and we can clarify and pull up their voter registration information and explain to them which district they live in," said Hinds County Election Commissioner Connie Cochran.

If you have questions about what district you live in call the Hinds County Election Commissioners Office at 601-968-6557 or 6555, or you can go to the Hinds County website and click on the "Where do I Vote" link.
