Heroin suspects held without bond

BRANDON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Two men accused in a big drug bust in Rankin County over the weekend went before a County Judge Kent McDaniel Tuesday.

Judge McDaniel got help from a Hispanic inmate to interpret his communication with Marlon Gonzales Reyes and Alberto Estrada. They were denied bond until Tuesday, when they will have an attorney.

Pearl Police arrested Estrada and Reyes on I-20 early Saturday morning. Eight kilos of heroin were seized. Its value is estimated at about $1 million. They're charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute.

Estrada told the court he's a resident alien of the United States. Reyes says he's here on a Visa.
