The incident happened at the intersection of Beech and Dwight Streets just before 2 a.m.

The Holyoke Police Department told CBS 3 that the two cars involved were a black 2010 Honda Civic and a white 1997 Cadillac Seville.

According to police, there were four people inside the Civic and the "jaws of life" were needed to help remove the victims from the car.

Two of the victims, a 23-year-old male and a 23-year-old female, were pronounced dead.

The other two occupants, a 23-year-old male and a 24-year-old male, were taken to Baystate Medical Center and are listed in stable condition.
