HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Authorities have finally been able to identify a man whose body was found in late July in the water near Ship Island.
The drowning victim was Varrick Demont Hester, 46, of Southaven. Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove said information obtained through the clothing Hester had on led them to his brother. DNA taken from Hester's brother confirmed the drowning victim's identity.
Officials said foul play is not suspected in Hester's death.
