JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Rankin County authorities say a standoff ended peacefully in the Robinhood subdivision Thursday afternoon.

Sheriff Bryan Bailey said the sheriff's department received a call around 3 p.m. that a man in his mid 30s was possibly going to harm himself.

The sheriff's department brought in a special response team and negotiators. They talked the man out of the house on Ole Lake Road around 5 p.m.

No one was hurt in the incident.

The man was being taken for a mental evaluation, Bailey said.
