MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) - Dozens of first responders, citizens and Moss Point city leaders gathered at Pelican Landing Wednesday to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost during the September 11th attacks on America.
Local ministers began the ceremony by praying for peace across the world. Moss Point's high school jazz band played several patriotic hymns as a tribute to the brave men and women who lost their lives trying to save victims. Firefighters also performed a ceremonial ringing of the bell.
Mayor Billy Broomfield, one of the guest speakers, told the crowd it's vital the community understands the sacrifices made 12 years ago. He also encouraged citizens to always honor and thank local police and firefighters who help keep the city safe every day.
