Good Neighbor Day celebrates 20 years

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Wednesday is the 20th-annual "Good Neighbor Day" at Greenbrook Flowers. It started in 1994 and has grown into a international day of peace.

The shop gives away a free dozen roses to each person who comes through the door and requires they give eleven flowers away to strangers.

Shop owners hope to give away more than 30-thousand bouquets.

"Its very exciting  to be doing it in this day you know it was such a horrible thing that happened 12 years ago," said manager Gwen Colella. "And for us to be able to bring some kind of joy back to it, you cant beat it."
