More honors for Miss Mississippi at Miss America Pageant

ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY (Mississippi News Now) - Miss Mississippi 2013, Chelsea Rick, is one of the winners of a five thousand dollar STEM Scholarship at the Miss America Pageant.  Miss California, Crystal Lee was also a recipient.

This is the first time the STEM scholarship has been offered to contestants who study and plan to work in the fields of science, technology, engineering or math.

Rick's career ambition is to become a neurologist. She currently attends the  William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Tuesday night, Rick won the swimsuit preliminary. Wednesday night she competed in talent. Thursday night she had her on stage question. Saturday she participates in the "Show Me Your Shoes Parade".

The new Miss America will be crowned Sunday night in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
