Two suspects in fatal Gulfport apartment shooting at large

GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport police are searching for two men believed to be behind a fatal shooting at the O'Neal Road Apartments in Gulfport Saturday night.

According to Gulfport Police Chief Leonard Papania, the shooting happened around 10:19 p.m.

Police said there was a large gathering at one of the units. A woman who was at the gathering was shot and killed, Papania said. She was transported to the hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

The victim's name won't be released until her family members are notified. Papania said the two suspect fled before officer's arrived. This investigation is ongoing.

    In just over a year of taking action on the site to manage emergency wastewater treatment operations, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Administrator Scott Pruitt and the agency signed a $107.6 million Action Memorandum to begin cleanup in July 2018.
