JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A tip from concerned citizens in a Jackson neighborhood helped police locate a teen runaway and make three arrests.

The Jackson Police Department said, in a press release, they received a tip from the Drug Tip Hotline on Friday that drugs were being sold and distributed at a home on James Hill Street.

After a search warrant was executed and police searched the home, a 17-year-old black female, classified as a runaway, was discovered.

Police made three arrests. Terrence Burns, was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, while in possession of a firearm and in possession of a stolen firearm.

Other arrests included were Kevin Beverly and Jerry Benfield for outstanding warrants.

Police also discovered a stolen firearm that was taken from a house burglary in 2012, digital scales, hydrocodone pills and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.
