Aliza Sherman's family search for justice as they celebrate her birthday

It's been six months since someone killed Aliza Sherman and still there are no suspects and no arrests in this case. Now her family continues to search for justice as they celebrate her birthday.

"Your life has ended, but, your light can never be extinguished. It continues to shine upon me," said Jennifer Sherman.

Words read from a heartbroken daughter on what would have been her mother's 54th birthday.

"Being stolen from those she loved. This is not a happy birthday," added Jennifer.

Jennifer Sherman lights candles as family and friends gather in Beachwood to celebrate a life. A life cut short at the hands of a vicious killer who's still out on our streets.

The Cleveland Clinic nurse stabbed 11 times last march leaving her attorney's office. Sherman in the midst of a long drawn out messy divorce that was finally set to go to trial.

"I do relive that scene and picture her suffering much as she did and it eats me from the inside out," said Jennifer Sherman.

This night about honoring a mother -- a woman who touched so many lives. Jan Lash misses her dear friend.

"You live within each memories heart and so you remain though we're apart," said Jan Lash. 

So as they light floating lanterns and send them into the sunset the memory of Aliza Sherman lives on -- on a day that should have been filled with birthday candles and a song to celebrate.

"I hope someone will come forward with some information. I pray for that. That would be the biggest gift," added Jan.
