Man faces charges after Madison home invasion

MADISON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Madison police say a man is facing charges after allegedly forcing his way into a house in his subdivision.

According to a press release from the Madison Police Department, officers responded to a home in the Reunion subdivision shortly after 11 a.m. Thursday after receiving a report of a man forcing open the door to a residence.

The resident, who wasn't injured, provided a description of the suspect and a vehicle. Officers located the suspect at a nearby house and a brief pursuit and struggle ensued, according to the press release.

Walter Thomas Windsor, who lives in the Reunion subdivision, was arrested and charged with simple assault on a law enforcement officer, simple assault by threat, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, malicious mischief, resisting arrest and felony fleeing.

The investigation is ongoing and police say additional charges are possible.

Windsor is being held at the Madison County Detention Center without bond.
