When you work hard sometimes you gotta play hard--in the mud. Hundreds would agree. Each year crowds from all over trek to the Seabee base in Gulfport to run or walk in a muddy obstacle course. This year the 18th Annual Volkslauf mud run is 5.1 miles long. After two weeks of construction the course features slippery hills, trenches, holes you have to crawl through. This year they've added more challenges like more trenches, an eight foot wall and a slippery hill you have to pull yourself up using a rope. The race is open to anyone 13 years and older. FYI organizers recommend you wrap Duck tape around your shoes so they don't fall off. Also, the Seabees will be collecting can foods for the needy.
