GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) -

A 25-year-old Gautier woman is dead following a car crash on the eastbound lanes of I-10 in St. Tammany Parish, LA Monday, according to Nick Manale with Louisiana State Police.

Manale said the victim is Lauren Gregor. She was reportedly riding with 24-year-old Cody Rafter of Gautier. The two were in a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu.

According to Manale, she and Rafter, who was driving, got into an argument.

During the argument, Gregor reportedly jerked the steering wheel violently to the right.

That reportedly caused the car to rotate clockwise, making it move to the right side of the roadway then overturn. Manale said, she did not have a seatbelt on at the time of the crash and was ejected from the car. She ended up trapped under the car.

Gregor was taken to Ochsner Northshore Medical Center, where she died due to her injuries from the crash. Rafter was wearing a seatbelt and received minor injuries in the accident.

Manale said at this time, impairment is not suspected. However, police are waiting on toxicology analysis. No charges have been filed.
