HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Part of County Farm Road, near the I-10 overpass, was closed down Friday night after a non-hazardous chemical spill.
It happened around 7:30pm when the load shifted inside a transport truck carrying the chemical product. Some of the chemical was dumped on the road, and a cleanup crew was called in to investigate.
Officials with the Department of Environmental Quality and the Mississippi Department of Transportation were on the scene. They said the chemical isn't hazardous to people, but it is oil based, so driving on it would be dangerous.
They expected the cleanup to be finished and the road reopened by Saturday morning.
