GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

A Gulfport man will spend the rest of his life in prison, with no chance at parole, for murdering a Texas man in 2011.

Thursday, a jury found James John Rogers guilty of shooting and killing Clinton Jackson at the Southern Oaks Trailer Park on Three Rivers Road.  Prosecutors said the fight between Rogers and Jackson was over a woman. A witness tried to intervene before it escalated into gunfire, and murder.

Clinton Jackson of Lockney, Texas was 42 at the time of his death. He died at the hospital from a single gunshot wound.
