JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart says the death of Felisha Spann of Jackson is being investigated as a homicide, but they still haven't determined the cause of death.

Earlier today, the body found in the 300 block of Westhaven Boulevard Tuesday was identified at 41-year-old Felisha Spann.

Stewart says because of the level of decomposition, it's difficult to determine how she died. She estimates the woman had been dead for about three days before the body was found.

The body was found on property owned by the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church. A deacon doing a property check discovered the body.

Church communications director Ervin Ricks, Jr. says parishioners and the public use 300-acre property for fishing, horseback riding and leisure. The deacon checks the property three to five times a week.
