FEMA Opens Offices In South Mississippi

More help is on the way for some South Mississippi residents whose homes and businesses were damaged by Hurricane Ivan. On Tuesday, the Federal Emergency Management Agency will open disaster recovery centers in Jackson, George and Wayne Counties. The offices will be open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. seven days a week to help people who have suffered damages.

Jackson County - Jackson County Sheriff's Reserve Building at the Fairgrounds

George County -Senior Citizens Building on Hwy. 198, Lucedale

Wayne County -Wayne County Courthouse in Waynesboro

Before you visit FEMA offices, you must call 1-800-621-FEMA to apply for assistance.

Also, the American Red Cross will close its Family Services Center at the Jackson County Civic Center Tuesday. Officials say they will begin an outreach program where they will visit people's homes.
