HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Georgia teen and a woman were arrested Friday night after state troopers found them in possession of several pounds of marijuana.

According to Warren Strain, Public Affairs Director for the MS. Department of Public Safety, members of the Mississippi Highway Patrol's interdiction unit seized five pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop on I-10 in Hancock County. The stop was made just before 11 p.m. Friday.

"Our interdiction team has completed extensive, specialized training," MHP Colonel Donnell Berry said. "They used those skills to discover the marijuana in a hidden compartment in the suspect's late model Nissan sedan."

Troopers arrested 19-year-old Ismael Cuevas of 451 Reiser Road in Springfield, Georgia and 30-year-old Christina Denise Zaner of 2010 Whitaker Street in Savannah, Georgia. Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

The two are being held in the Hancock County Detention Center pending their initial appearance.
